Saint Lucia Weather

If you decide to book a holiday in the Caribbean, you are almost guaranteed gorgeous weather and, thanks to its proximity to the equator, a stay on the beautiful island of Saint Lucia is no exception. Saint Lucia is blessed with glorious sunshine and azure blue skies for much of the year, and there are few fluctuations in temperature and rainfall levels of Saint Lucia weather you need to worry about before booking your holiday of a lifetime to the island.

Typical Saint Lucia Weather

Saint Lucia’s weather is deliciously hot for much of the year, although if you are exploring the mountainous areas inland you may find conditions a little more humid, unless you are trekking at altitude. However, along the coast and beaches, you can expect to be continually soothed by refreshing cool breezes blowing in off the ocean and conditions will be perfect for a relaxing and very enjoyable holiday. Temperatures vary from the mid-70s up to the high 90s degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the time of year you visit the island, which is why Saint Lucia is such a popular holiday destination 365 days per year - unlike many European destinations, you are guaranteed perfect Saint Lucia weather no matter when you choose to visit.

Saint Lucia Weather during the Summer

From May through to September, Saint Lucia weather is hot and humid. Temperatures can reach the high 90s Fahrenheit and even at night, the temperatures are still around 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Saint Lucia Weather during Hurricane Season

Hurricanes and tropical storms regularly affect the Caribbean during the rainy season, and Saint Lucia is no exception. In general, hurricane season runs from June through to November, but severe hurricanes are exceedingly rare and with plenty of advanced warnings available thanks to advances in modern meteorological technology, visitors should certainly not be deterred from visiting Saint Lucia at this time of year.

Does Saint Lucia Weather Vary Across Different Parts of the Island?

Saint Lucia weather will vary according to whereabouts you are staying on the island. In coastal regions, for example around Rodney Bay, summertime temperatures are hot and humid, but not unbearable thanks to cool winds blowing in off the sea. Inland Saint Lucia is largely rainforest, and if you choose to go hiking here, the humidity and air temperatures are higher during the summer. At higher altitudes, temperatures drop, and you may even need a jacket if you decide to hike up Mount Piton in the centre of the island for a glimpse of some stunning views. In general, visitors can expect Saint Lucia weather to be hot and sunny at all times. Most visitors come to the island for their fill of sunshine and are not disappointed with the delightful Saint Lucia weather: hot sun, endless blue skies, warm, balmy tropical breezes and a deliciously tepid sea, all add up to the perfect winter sun holiday destination.
